The CMA Awards nominees were announced this week, and many of your favorite country stars up for awards this year have expressed their reactions to the exciting news!
Keith Urban says he didn't realize the nominees for this fall's Country Music Association Awards were being unveiled Wednesday. The singer explains that it was business as usual for him when he started his day.
Urban explains that he "must've gotten 15 texts in the space of about 15 seconds." He says the minute he was back home he "sat in the garage calling everybody to thank them." Keith earned four CMA nominations, including bids for Male Vocalist and Entertainer of the Year.
And Urban isn't the only one who appreciates the recognition. New Artist of the Year nominee Brandy Clark says being up for two CMA Awards is "truly a thrill and a dream come true." She's also in the running for Song of the Year - a songwriter's award - with Kacey Musgraves and Shane McAnally for Kacey's "Follow Your Arrow."
Meanwhile, veteran George Strait racked up his record extending 83rd CMA nomination with his bid for Entertainer of the Year. He calls the nod "a great honor," adding that it "just puts the icing on the cake" of what's been "an incredible year."
The 48th annual CMA Awards will be presented in a ceremony in Nashville, and air on ABC on November 5th.
