Southwest Airlines has released this statement on the emergency landing a short time ago in Philadelphia.
The Southwest jet is on the ground in Philly after making an emergency landing. The flight crew is being credited with getting this jet on the ground as safely as possible. Reportedly this engine failure sent shrapnel from the engine debris through the skin of the plane into the cabin injuring passengers. One person is injured and has been hospitalized.
