CDC Advises Of E. coli Outbreak In Romaine Lettuce - Do Not Eat

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention has issued a warning that an E. coli outbreak has been found within romaine lettuce across multiple states and that consumers should avoid eating the green. If you have romaine lettuce stored in your refrigerator at home, it is advised that it is thrown out and that the drawers or shelves that it resided on be sanitized.

This advice includes all types or uses of romaine lettuce, such as whole heads of romaine, hearts of romaine, and bags and boxes of precut lettuce and salad mixes that contain romaine, including baby romaine, spring mix, and Caesar salad.
