The frigid cold coming across the northeast is unsettling for both human and animal, but in some cases the animals are not permitted into the warmth.

Dr. John Fiormamonti, owner of Towson Veterinary Hospital, told WMAR 2 News that they would be opening up their doors to house the homeless' pets who are not permitted into shelters during these bitter cold days.

“I just think it is important to be able to take care of animals that don’t have the proper environment where they can stay warm and they can stay healthy and this is one little way Towson Veterinary Hospital and Jarrettsville Animal Hospital can do that,” Dr. Fiormamonti said. “We are going to be taking pets in today and tomorrow, probably releasing them on Saturday or Sunday.”
