Washington Wizards' John Wall To Miss Next Year After Falling In His House

The Washington Wizards are taking a big loss as guard John Wall will have to take the next 12 months off from basketball to recuperate from a fall he took in his home that ruptured his left Achilles tendon.

According to the Wizards' official statemen t:

Wall had developed an infection in the incision from initial surgery on Jan. 8 (a debridement and repair of a Haglund’s deformity and a chronic Achilles tendon injury in his left heel that was also performed by Dr. Anderson) and he suffered the rupture after slipping and falling in his home. The rupture was diagnosed by Wizards Director of Medical Services and Orthopedist Dr. Wiemi Douoguih during a procedure to clean out the infection.

As of Tuesday, Feb. 5, Wall ranked second among the team is points per game (20.7) and led the team is assists per game (8.7).
