Yesterday (Thursday, May 30) afternoon, the National Weather Service confirmed that a tornado had touched down in Ellicott City and this wind funnel was captured on video. Twitter user @SingingMiniVan shared the clip originally captured by Tim Viets to her feed, stating that it was seen at Veterans Elementary School in Ellicott City and the video was captured while the Viets was in shelter-and-place by the front window.
You can hear him say "it's headed right down the 100 line" referencing highway Maryland 100.
Within the past two weeks, two tornados have touched down in Howard County. No injuries have been reported.
