Jane Fonda has been arrested in Washington D.C.
The 81-year-old actress was arrested at the U.S. Capitol was taken into custody for civil disobedience on the steps of the Capitol while protesting against climate change.
According to an email that United States Capitol Police Communications Director Eva Malecki wrote to People Magazine, Fonda was not the only person taken in by authorities.
“Today, the United States Capitol Police arrested 16 individuals for unlawfully demonstrating on the East Front of the U.S. Capitol,” she said.
Fonda's arrest comes just days after she told the Washington Post that she would be demonstrating for the next 14 Fridays until filming would resume for Netflix's popular series Grace and Frankie.
