Welp, there go our hearts melting into a puddle.
Maj. Bill White is remarkable. He spent 30 years active duty with the Marines, serving in World War II and the Battle of Iwo Jima (for which he was awarded the Purple Heart for surviving). While in combat, Maj. White was wounded when a grenade blew up just 6 inches away from him, but he didn't let that slow him down.
“The fact that I even survived is something. There weren’t too many of us,” White explained in a video interview.
The 104-year-old now spends his time home in Stockton, CA and one of his favorite activities is scrapbooking! He shared that he keeps all of his memories archived by year on his bookshelves and this year he would like to add Valentine's Day cards to his 2020 collection!
“I'll save every one of them like I've been saving little things that have come up until right now and they’ll be a personal part of my history,” he explained to FOX40.
