FOX45 has reported that a Towson University professor has been tested for the coronavirus after coming in contact with a family member who was also being tested for the virus.
The TU Health Center was informed of the news on Wednesday (Jan. 29) night and according to the report, both the professor and their family member "are at low risk."
While they are low risk, Towson is still remaining cautious saying that "out of an abundance of caution, the professor — in conjunction with the university — has decided to not return to campus pending the family member’s final test results expected in the next few days from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)."
Additional precautions for the virus are currently not being applied to campus, but "[u]ntil further notice, the university is suspending all university-related and university-sponsored travel to China," even though they currently do not have students studying abroad and have no program in China for this current semester.
