Carnival Cruise Line Prepares To Resume Operation In August

Carnival Cruise Line has announced that they intend on resuming cruise operations in August.

While all of their current North American cruises through July 31 have been cancelled, they have announced that their current plan is to set sail with 8 ships from Miami, Port Canaveral and Galveston on August 1. The company said that all other North American and Australian operations will be on pause until August 31.

"We are taking a measured approach, focusing our return to service on a select number of homeports where we have more significant operations that are easily accessible by car for the majority of our guests," the company said in a statement. "We will use this additional time to continue to engage experts, government officials and stakeholders on additional protocols and procedures to protect the health and safety of our guests, crew and the communities we serve."

The Secretary of Health and Human Services’ currently has a no-sail order in place, which "rescinds or modifies the order based on specific public health or other considerations, or 100 days have passed from April 15, the date the order was extended, meaning July 24," according to NBC Philadelphia.
