Prince George's County Will Continue Distant Learning Through To Next Year

It was announced today, July 15, that students in Prince George's County Public Schools will continue their education via distant learning through at least January 29, 2021. Chief executive officer of schools, Dr. Monica Goldson, made the statement.

"Our students will experience a full school day of a robust delivery of instruction five days a week," Goldson said. "Our teachers will have the option to deliver that robust delivery of instruction from their classroom where they have access to a variety of materials. We will offer small group instruction for special groups such as our English language learners and our special needs students. And on day one, we will become a one-to-one school district, ensuring that every student has a laptop or an iPad and has WiFi access in order to begin the first day of this robust learning experience."

She also acknowledged that this decision did not come lightly.

In addition to no in-person teaching, all fall sports programs have also been cancelled.
