An active shooter killed three and injured more than a dozen people at the Gilroy Garlic Festival in California over the weekend and it has been confirmed that two of the victims were children. One of the children has been identified as 6-year-old Stephen Luciano Romero and the other was a 13-year-old girl. The third victim was a man in his 20s.
According to KPIX in San Francisco, "The Santa Clara County Health System said they treated 19 patients in connection with the shooting at their hospitals. Eleven patients had gunshot wounds, while 8 others suffered non-gunshot injuries."
Police on the scene shot and killed the suspected shooter, who reportedly opened fire with an assault-type rifle that police say was purchased by the suspect in Nevada on July 9.
