After 27 years of marriage, it's over for Bill and Melinda Gates.
The co-founder of Microsoft Corporation released a statement via Twitter that he and his wife of almost 3 decades "no longer believe [they] can grow together as a couple in the next phase of our lives."
Together they have raised 3 children, Jennifer, Rory and Phoebe and launched the Bill & Melinda Gates foundation, a nonprofit fighting poverty, disease, and inequity around the world. They also shared in the statement that they will continue to work together to support their foundation's mission.
The family is asking for privacy at this time as they "navigate this new life."
