Darius Rucker is marking throwback Thursday with a 40-year-old photo. Rucker took to Instagram on Thursday (May 12) to take a walk down memory lane, reflecting on his high school days. Now an iconic artist, the Charleston, South Carolina-born singer-songwriter is “taking it back to sophomore year!” Rucker wrote in his caption. “Pep rally at Middleton High School in 1982. #TBT

Rucker, 56, recently released his latest single, explaining in a video he shared on social media: “It’s a song just about how if we get together and have a beer and talk about our problems we can probably solve everything that’s going on in the world.” Similar to his 2020 hit “Beers And Sunshine,” Rucker’s new song, “Same Beer Different Problem,” is an upbeat song with a summery vibe that’s perfect for driving with the windows down or for cracking open a beer with a group of friends: “It’s the same beer, different problem/ Maybe this next round will solve ‘em/ Maybe the answer’s down at the bottom/ Of a cool libation and some friendly conversation/ Tonight with some brand new friends/ Ain’t no doubt we can figure it out again/ Raise ‘em up if you got ‘em/ Same beer, different problem.”

The song marks Rucker’s latest in a decades-long career packed with hit songs, both as a solo artist and with Hootie & The Blowfish. Rucker has celebrated some major milestones since his high school days… See his throwback photo here:
