Chloë Grace Moretz 'appalled and angry' over body-shaming poster

Chloe Grace Moretz is slamming the marketing behind her new movie and says she is "appalled and angry" about a new body-shaming billboard.

Moretz voices Snow White in the animated Red Shoes and the 7 Dwarfs, which is a parody of Snow White. The movie's billboard features a tall and slim woman standing next to a shorter, curvier woman with the tagline "What if Snow White were no longer beautiful and the 7 Dwarfs not so short?" Many people were offended by the implication that the curvier woman was not beautiful.

Moretz fired off a series of tweets on Wednesday saying, "I have now fully reviewed the marketing for Red Shoes. I am just as appalled and angry as everyone else, this wasn't approved by me or my team." She added, "The actual story is powerful for young women and resonated with me. I am sorry for the offense that was beyond my creative control."

The producers of the movie responded with a statement which reads, "Our film, a family comedy, carries a message designed to challenge social prejudices related to standards of physical beauty in society by emphasizing the importance of inner beauty. We appreciate and are grateful for the constructive criticism of those who brought this to our attention. We sincerely regret any embarrassment or dissatisfaction this mistaken advertising has caused." (EW)
