Luke Combs Has Done What No Other Solo Male Artist Has Done Before

We have to offer up major congratulations to Luke Combs!

Our former On the Verge artist has officially done what no other solo-male recording artist has ever achieved. His debut single "Hurricane" was officially awarded a gold plaque (signifying that the record has sold 500,000 copies) on-stage at a recent event but the presenter offered up additional information that puts Luke in a category storm of his own!

"The first solo male in 1,000 years to go #1 [with his debut single]," the presenter said in regards to as he was handing over the plaque.

And that wasn't it! He then shocks Luke and the crowd by letting him know that not only has he gone gold, but "Hurricane" has in fact met the qualifications to be submitted for platinum certification, which signifies that he has sold 1,000,000 copies!

Luke's record label, Sony Music Nashville, confirmed the achievement in an email sent out on July 14.

Congratulations Luke! Who needs to have a whirlwind of success when you can have a hurricane?
