How the DMV is Helping Those Affected by Harvey

Hurricane Harvey has misplaced nearly 30,000 people in the Greater Houston Area out of their homes and caused an estimated $190 billion dollars worth of damage to Texas but the rest of country is uniting to help those affected, including people in our own backyard.

Aly Jacobs interviewed the men behind Architectural Ceramics, a Virginia based company, about their efforts to help deliver supplies. They called in on their drive down to the Lone Star State and you can listen to that here:

In addition, Aly also spoke with Costa of the Maryland Hurricane Harvey Relief Drive. This organization is holding a simple drive collecting canned goods and water bottles that they will deliver down to Houston. Check it out here:

As part of her Babe of the Week segment, she helps a new pup find a home every week from the Humane Rescue Alliance. Atticus has been in the shelter for a few months and is especially looking for a home now so the Humane Rescue Alliance can make room for pets that they are saving from the Hurricane affected areas. Learn more about Atticus here.
