After months out of the spotlight due to a fall that resulted in 40 stitches in her face, Carrie Underwood made her first public appearance since the accident at the 2018 ACM Awards in Las Vegas. The singer was debuting her new single, "Cry Pretty," but opted to to skip the blue carpet because "she didn’t want to be bombarded with questions about the accident" and "was terrified of people seeing the scars,” and insider told PEOPLE Magazine.

While she may have been feeling insecure about her face, we have to say that her hair & makeup team did a phenomenal job because honestly, you couldn't see a scratch.

After what was clearly an emotional performance for the singer, she was called back on stage for winning Vocal Event of the Year for her duet with Keith Urban on "The Fighter" just minutes later. Visibly overwhelmed, Keith prompted Carrie to say something on their win and all she could mutter out through the tears was "Thank you for having me, I’m still shaking right now.”
