It is no secret that yesterday (April 2) marked Bryce Harper's first return to Nats Park since leaving DC to join the Philadelphia Phillies in March.
Upon his return, former Harper enthusiasts got very creative with their old #34 shirts and jerseys. Twitter user @mikafrak commented that his departure from the Nationals has "led so many grown men to arts and crafts." One fan swapped out Harper's name on his back for lyrics from Gotye's hit "Somebody That I Used To Know," which we have to admit gave us a laugh.
The Big Stick, a bar at the Navy Yard, has decided to make good out of all of this! They are collecting fans' old Harper apparel at the bar and in exchange, give them a free shot of whiskey. All of the jerseys and shirts they collect will be donated to Bread for the City, a non-profit whose mission is to reduce the burden of poverty in Washington DC.
So now that leaves us with this question for you, what are you going to do with your old Harper gear?
