It's no secret that the Washington Redskins have had a rough season and that trend has seemingly continued into their offseason.

The Redskins let go of head coach Jay Gruden back in the regular season and recently revealed that they've hired former Carolina Panthers coach Ron Rivera to succeed him. During Coach Rivera's introductory press conference on January 2, 2020, owner Dan Snyder took to the podium and within seconds of beginning his speech he confidently wished the packed press room a happy Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving. In January.

SO if you're wondering why Happy Thanksgiving is one of the top trends on Twitter right now, there is your answer. Check out the video itself as well as users' reactions to Snyder's bizarre comment.

But nothing rings in the new year like wishing someone a happy Turkey Day...right?
