The Mushroom Kingdom is coming to Florida!
It has been announced that a theme park surrounding the world of Nintendo is set to open at Universal Orlando in 2023. While 2023 is still a couple of years away, we can get a taste of what to expect when Comcast/NBCUniversal open up Nintendo theme parks in Osaka, Japan this summer. Guests will be able to purchase a "power up band" to interact with unique experiences around the park such as gathering coins like Super Mario does and compete with each other.
The most exciting part however sounds like memorable moments from the Super Nintendo world will be brought to 4D. Thierry Coup, the senior vice president and chief creative officer at Universal Creative said "Nintendo’s most iconic locations and experiences will be brought to life, including Mushroom Kingdom, Peach’s Castle, an incredible Mario Kart ride, Bowser’s Castle – and more."
The Orlando location is said to be "located on a 750-acre (304-hectare) site a few miles from the current Universal Orlando property, which is home to the Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure parks, as well as the Volcano Bay water park," according to USA Today.
