Gov. Northam Orders All VA Schools To Close For Remainder Of Year

Virginia Governor Northam Delivers Annual State Of The Commonwealth Address

In Gov. Northam's press conference on Monday, March 23, it was ordered that all Virginia K-12 schools remain closed for the remainder of the academic year to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

In addition, all VA barber shops, salons, spas, entertainment venues must close for at least 30 days effective as of midnight on March 24. Essential locations such as grocery stores, pharmacies and banks will remain open but must adhere to sanitation measures and social distancing.

Gatherings of 10+ people will also be banned.
