Gov. Larry Hogan revealed today that Maryland will fully enter phase 3 of their recovery plan at 5PM on Friday, Sept. 4.
This means that:
- all businesses are eligible to re-open
- movie theaters and live music venues may re-open at 50% capacity, up to 100 people indoors or up to 250 people outdoors
- retail stores and places of worship may host 75% capacity (up from 50% capacity)
All places must still take appropriate safety precautions.
Hogan also included in his press conference that for 68 consecutive days, the state has followed World Health Organization guidelines and has had nearly a 30% decrease in intensive care hospital visits since the end of July.
As reported by WJLA, "[t]he governor's office reports that the state's positivity rate is 3.39%, which is below the 5% that the World Health Organization recommends sustaining prior to re-opening economies."
