Caps fans have another new item to add to their wardrobe...the blue jerseys!
The Washington Capitals' third jersey is inspired by the team's 2018 NHL Stadium Series jersey and will be appearing over the next three seasons, including 7 games this season.
The blue jersey sports a large W on the front with the middle point being an ode to the Washington Monument and three stars to represent the DMV.
According to the Capitals' press release, "[d]uring select games the third jersey is worn, the Capitals will honor a frontline worker as the team's Blue Star of the Game. The Blue Star of the Game will be spotlighted, receive a jersey and be an honorary member of the game's starting lineup in honor of their efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic."
The blue jerseys will make their debut on Jan. 26 against the New York Rangers and are available to fans for purchase now online at shop.nhl.com and shop.monumentalsportsnetwork.com.
