Tyler Hubbard shared a 15-second teaser on his social media channels on Thursday (May 12) as he announced new details about his solo debut. Hubbard, the country singer-songwriter who rose to fame with duo partner Brian Kelley as Florida Georgia Line, announced that his first single is set to release on May 20. Hubbard, whose record label also announced the release date of the upcoming single, captioned: “Excited to share my first single drops next Friday, 5/20. Pre-save ‘5 Foot 9’ to hear it FIRST. Can’t wait to hear what y’all think.”

So far, fans and fellow artists — including BRELAND and Shy Carter — have dropped comments showing that they’re eager for the full song: “Yesss! Can’t wait to hear it 🙌🏻,” “yes!!! SO excited!!!,” “Looking forward to it! 🔥,” “Let’s goooooo! Super excited! 🔥.”

Hubbard teased earlier this week that his new music is coming soon. The solo work comes shortly after he and Kelley confirmed that they were “taking a break” from working together as Florida Georgia Line to pursue their individual goals. Kelley, who’s currently on his first solo tour, released his first solo EP last year. Listen to the first snippet of Hubbard’s first single here:
