Tim McGraw can’t get over his wife’s talent. The “7500 OBO” singer shared a throwback clip on his social media channels on Thursday afternoon (August 4), remembering a powerful performance by Faith Hill. McGraw said one of his daughters found the footage, and he was in awe: “My daughter ran across this, man my wife can sing!”
McGraw shared a clip of Hill performing “Cry,” the title track of her 14-track album that she released in 2002. In the one-minute, 10-second clip, Hill sings as raindrops begin to pour down:
“Give it up baby/ I hear you're doing fine/ Nothing's gonna save me/ I can see it in your eyes/ Some kind of heartache/ Honey, give it a try/ I don't want pity/ I just want what is mine
“Could you cry a little? Lie just a little?/ Pretend that you're feeling a little more pain?/ I gave, now I'm wanting something in return/ So cry just a little for me/ Yeah/ Cry just a little for me/ Whoa whoa/ Could you cry a little for me?”
McGraw and Hill tied the knot nearly 26 years ago, in October 1996. McGraw popped the question at a music festival shortly before taking the stage. When he returned to the trailer houses they used as dressing rooms, Hill had written a message in lipstick on the mirror: “‘Yes, I’m gonna be your wife.’ And I still have that mirror. I still have the mirror.” Since then, they’ve welcomed three daughters: Gracie, 25, Maggie, nearly 24, and Audrey, 20. Each one has proved that talent runs in the family. Listen to “Cry” again here:
