Jelly Roll admits “it scares me” to announce his next tour.
The Whitsitt Chapel hitmaker teased a “big” tour announcement on the horizon in a on Tuesday (February 20). Jelly Roll wrote: “This tour is so big it scares me a little to release the dates ….. I’ve never been nervous before a tour announcement before. But this one is THE ONE!”
Jelly Roll’s latest full-length project to release is Whitsitt Chapel, a 13-track album named in honor of the church he attended while growing up in the Antioch neighborhood of Nashville, Tennessee. Whitsitt Chapel included “Halfway To Hell,” “Save Me” with Lainey Wilson (which Kelly Clarkson recently covered on her talk show, garnering a response from Jelly Roll), “Need A Favor” and other highlights. Jelly Roll teamed up with powerhouse songwriters Miranda Lambert, Ashley McBryde, HARDY, Jesse Frasure, Hillary Lindsey, Matt Jenkins, Jessie Jo Dillon, Austin Nivarel, Hunter Phelps, Michael Whitworth, producer Zach Crowell, and others to create the album, which also includes collaborations with Yelawolf, and Brantley Gilbert and Struggle Jennings.
Whitsitt Chapel is an album “about growth and gratitude happening in my life,” Jelly Roll previously shared of the then-unreleased album. “I wanted to create a project that felt hopeful. I believe the worst feeling a person can have is feeling hopeless or worthless. This is therapeutic music. Real music for real people with real problems.”
After releasing Whitsitt Chapel, Jelly Roll — a former iHeartRadio On The Verge Artist and the reigning CMA New Artist of the Year — kicked off his headlining 2023 “Backroad Baptism Tour,” which stopped in dozens of cities across the U.S. It wasn’t immediately clear as of publication time when Jelly Roll would announce new details about his 2024 tour.
