According to the Adoption Network, 135,0000 adoptions take place in the United States each year. Here are three country artists that support adoption.
Carrie Underwood caused quite a stir with her comment to Redbook magazine about age and fertility. Earlier this week, the magazine reported Underwood to say, “I’m 35, so we may have missed our chance to have a big family.” This statement caused fans to flood social media in a passionate frenzy of comments.
Underwood later posted an announcement on Instagram that she and husband, Mike Fisher, were expecting baby number two. Underwood seems to flawlessly juggle her successful career while being a busy mother to her 3-year-old son, Isiah and while the Fisher family is growing, adoption could also be in their future!
“We always talk about adoption and about doing it when our child or children are a little older,” says Underwood.
While adoption could be in the future for Underwood and Fisher, adoption has been a big part of Thomas Rhett’s life.
Thomas and Lauren Rhett adopted Willa Grey from Uganda in May of 2017. Two months after welcoming Willa Gray to the family, the Rhett family welcomed their second daughter Ada James.
Describing both of their daughters as treasures, Lauren celebrates both girls on Instagram regularly. As an anniversary to Willa Gray’s adoption, Lauren posted the following:
“Our sweet Ugandan sunshine came home to America a year ago today. This pic was us in Uganda in the thick of our adoption, trying to bring our baby home. Cannot imagine a life without my baby girl who made me a mama. I wish I could still swaddle you and hold you just like this. So thankful that Jesus gave me you, Willa Gray. Being your mama will forever be the greatest thing I ever get to do. I love you to the moon and stars cutie pie.”
Thomas Rhett pulled from this adoption experience to write his current hit, “Life Changes” which is the single on his album. The video is adorable.
TYLER & HAYLEY HUBBARD (Florida Georgia Line)
Tyler Hubbard and wife Hayley are loving their lives as parents to Olivia and the couple has plans to bringing more children into their family. The Hubbard’s have been seeking advice from the Rhett family.
“It’s definitely an inspiring situation, the love they have for that little girl and that she has for them…it’s just so cool to see the difference you can make in somebody’s life,” says Hubbard.
