It's a new record for online shoppers, and your prize is whatever you ordered! We collectively bought $6.59 billion of who-knows-what on Cyber Monday. Wondering why? How about $2 billion of that was smartphones.
The National Retail Federation estimated that more than 174 million Americans shopped in stores and online from Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday -- a 17 percent increase from 2016. The average expected spending per person was $335.47. The biggest spenders, however, were people aged 25 to 34 -- who spent $419.52 on average.
