Fueled by strong Santa Ana winds, the wildfires raging near Los Angeles forced a full closure of the jam-packed I-405 freeway near the Getty Center on Wednesday morning, as well as mandatory evacuations of multimillion-dollar homes in Bel-Air and Brentwood. In nearby Ventura County, the fire reached the Pacific Ocean and forced 27,000 people to evacuate. The fire has also destroyed hundreds of structures as it wreaks havoc on America’s second largest metro area. Suffice it to say, Governor Jerry Brown has declared a state of emergency in the area as firefighters struggle to contain the out-of-control blaze.
