In Mississippi recently, a hunter named Bertha Vickers used a .243 Winchester rifle to kill and bag a deer a few miles from her rural home. What makes this feat exceptional is the fact that Vickers is about to turn 100. What makes it unexceptional, as she explains to The Clarion Ledger, is that her prey was “just a doe,” adding, "I don't know why everybody is making such a big deal about it. If I'd killed a big buck, I could see it”
Tomorrow is her 100th birthday!
