Annie Murphy's story is just about opposite from her character, Alexis Rose, on Schitt's Creek!
Unlike Rose's story of going from wealth and glamour to all-of-the-sudden broke, Murphy was in a super rough spot in life before landing the role on the international hit show.
“Just before Schitt’s Creek, things were quite bleak,” she told Kelly Clarkson on The Kelly Clarkson Show. “My house had just burnt down, I had like, $3 in my bank account, I hadn’t worked in close to two years. And I had just blown my very first screen test — like blown it, blown it, blown it.”
Murphy also said that two days prior to landing the audition for the show, she was ugly crying in the Pacific Ocean ready to give up on acting.
Schitt's Creek is currently in it's sixth and final season and was nominated for outstanding comedy series at the 2019 Emmy Awards.
