After 8 months of marriage, Carly Pearce & Michael Ray have called it quits.
PEOPLE Magazine reported that reps from both Pearce has filed for divorce from Ray.
"This was a hard decision. It wasn't something she wanted to have to do," a source close to Pearce told PEOPLE. "This hasn't been a quarantine realization — it was a last resort."
The last time the couple was seen together was on June 6 for a performance at the Grand Ole Opry and it was there that Ray told PEOPLE that the two were splitting quarantine time between their home in Nashville and with their families.
"It's been a hard time for everybody," Ray said before that performance. "But we've really tried to find the silver lining in it, and go, 'We're not getting out of this, so how do we make the most of it?'"
Ray and Pearce's relationship has been a quick one. They announced that they were together publicly in July 2018, became engaged on Dec. 19, 2018 in Tulum, Mexico and wed on October 6, 2019.
