Alex Trebek lost his battle to stage 4 pancreatic cancer on November 8 and producers have revealed that he was in the Jeopardy! studio just over a week before his death on Oct. 29 filming the beloved game show.
Because the show is filmed so far ahead of time, new episodes will continue to air posthumously until Christmas day.
Over the last 36 years, Trebek hosted over 8,200 episodes of Jeopardy! through 37 seasons and was awarded the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Game Show host 5 times, most recently winning in 2020.
Trebek made the heartbreaking reveal of his cancer diagnosis in March 2019.
At this time, Sony Pictures Television has not released any commentary on who will fill Trebek's shoes as host of Jeopardy!.
