Veterans Day, observed this year on Monday, Nov. 11, brings several special offers for veterans, active-duty service members, and their families in the D.C. area. Here’s a roundup of some great deals and events to take advantage of, from museum discounts to meal deals.
Museum of the Bible
From Nov. 11-17, the Museum of the Bible in D.C. is offering free admission to veterans, active-duty service members, and their families with valid ID. Tickets can only be obtained at the museum, not online.
Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center
On Nov. 11, this Smithsonian facility in Chantilly, Virginia, will offer veterans and active-duty members free parking, plus $1 off movie tickets at the Airbus Theater and free popcorn with any movie purchase. At the museum’s Shake Shack, military personnel can also enjoy 20% off shakes.
Ambar
Enjoy a 10% discount at Ambar’s “Balkan Without Limits” brunch experience with valid military ID. This offer is available at any of Ambar’s three D.C.-area locations on Monday, Nov. 11.
District Bites
Located near Capital One Arena, District E’s District Bites is giving veterans and active-duty members 20% off food from Nov. 8-10 with military ID.
Alexandria Bier Garden
In Old Town Alexandria, Alexandria Bier Garden is honoring veterans with 10% off food all day on Nov. 11.
Arlington Restaurants
Three Arlington spots—Barley Mac, Green Pig Bistro, and Buena Vida Gastrolounge—are offering veterans and active-duty members a free entree (one per person) on Nov. 11 from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. (beverages not included).
Atlas Brew Works
Both the Alexandria brewery and Navy Yard location of Atlas Brew Works will offer a 10% discount to veterans and active-duty members on Monday, Nov. 11, during regular hours.
Red Robin
Participating Red Robin locations will serve free “Red’s Big Tavern Burgers” with bottomless steak fries to veterans and active-duty service members on Nov. 11. Proof of service is required.
Mr. Wash Car Wash
Veterans, active-duty members, and military spouses can get a free Exterior Signature Car Wash at any Mr. Wash location from Nov. 9-11. No ID is needed; simply mention the offer to the attendant.
Maryland Transit Administration
On Nov. 11, veterans and active-duty members can ride free across all MTA transit options, including buses, light rail, MARC trains, and more. A U.S. Department of Defense or VA ID, or a Maryland driver’s license with veteran designation, is required.
